The Usual Rules

I've noticed that every time I mention "we're having a party" the same questions get asked. So I thought I'd answer them all here. I doubt it'll stop people asking the questions, but might make it a little easier for someone to find the answer.

Am I invited? Can I bring ...?
If you know me, and you know about the party, you're invited. If you've a friend/relative/spouse you want to bring along, that's fine too.

How do I get to the party? How do I get home again?
The best bet is to get the train to Linlithgow, then phone for a lift. E-mail me if you need phone numbers. We'll also arrange lifts back to the station - last trains are just after midnight. About half the trains between Edinburgh and Glasgow stop at Linlithgow, as do most trains between Edinburgh and Stirling.

Alternatively, you can scrounge a lift with someone who's driving, or drive yourself. Again, e-mail me if you need directions.

What should I bring?
Please bring drinks for yourself. Snacks/cakes for general consumption are very much appreciated. If we're having a bbq, please also bring something to throw on the barbie. Otherwise, just bring the pleasure of your company!

What about birthday presents?
I don't *need* presents. Just give me a hug!

How about fireworks?
Please don't bring fireworks. We've got pets, and have an idea what their limits are. So please let us choose the fireworks.

...and about those pets.
We've got two huge dogs and a fat cat. For parties, the dogs are kept in the front of the house, behind a baby gate. (They could step over it, but are too lazy to bother!) Your welcome to go see the dogs, but I would keep food away from them!

The cat is free to wander, but will probably hide away from big groups of people. It's not you - it's crowds.

Other questions?
I've probably forgotten something. E-mail me!
