Abilities
Inherent to the character, not learned (though may be trained). e.g. Clever, Strong, Agile, Charming. Typically rated between -5 and +5.

Every character has the ability Health.

Skills
Learnt. e.g. Sword Fighting, First Aid, Ride. Typically rated between +1 and +5.

Knacks
A specialisation within a skill. e.g. Disarm, Mount Running Horse. The character must already possess one or more appropriate skills. Always worth +5.
