James Wellbeloved, manufacturers of fine pet food, keep sending us free samples. This is a definite good thing, as the pets love the stuff, especially Cisco. It's expensive, so we use it as treats. How good is it? Cisco will obey orders for turkey treats. Anyone who said you can't train cats reckoned without the power of Wellbeloved... Every time we get a sample, they also send us a form with which we can recommend four friends who might also want to get some samples. The latest arrived yesterday, and I'm not quite sure who to recommend, so I thought I'd ask. If you want a sample (about enough for two meals for a cat, or half a mouthful for Tara...) drop me an e-mail or leave a comment on livejournal. They do cat, dog, and ferret versions. *** In other news, because of friends who are far too busy to hold parties on vaguely the correct day, I'm going to a halloween party on Saturday. My problem is that I have no idea what to wear. My original thought is going to take far too long to make, though I might try that for next year. I'm probably going to have to wear something I've already got, but thought I'd ask for opinions. Options are :
The Pirate - Leather trousers, frilled shirt, swishy coat/cape, pair of flintlocks. Or a better idea? Any help very much appreciated! Posted by graham @ 01:46 pm Sunday, November 9, 2008 Explode Into 2009 Last night's party went pretty well, including by far the most impressive bonfire we've had yet, courtesy of Sarah and her trained pyromaniacs. However, rain stopped the fireworks pretty quickly. I don't mind getting a bit wet for other people's entertainment, but when it's raining hard enough that the fuses go out there's not a lot I can do. So was born plan B... Hogmanay Everyone we know is invited to a New Year's Eve party at our place, complete with fireworks display. At the moment, details are sketchy. I'm guessing it'll be bring a bottle, bring friends if you want, and running roughly 9pm to 3am. Auld Lang Syne will probably get sung, with fireworks happening five minutes into 2009. Lifts from Linlithgow station to the party will be available on request, and we'll make sure people can get lifts back to Edinburgh and similar places. Crash space will be available for those coming from further afield. As always, queries, comments, and suggestions very welcome! Posted by graham @ 05:51 pm Friday, November 7, 2008 Bonfire Party Quick reminder to everyone - tomorrow is the bonfire and fireworks party at ours. Fire lighting will be around 6, fireworks around 8. Lifts to/from Linlithgow station on request - give me a call when you're on the train. I'm not going to get much chance to check email/other online messages, so if you need me, phone or text my mobile! If you don't have my number, ask someone who does... A few people are planning to turn up from around 2pm to help out. (We'll be shopping and walking dogs before that, so no one before 2 please.) If you're planning to be early, please make sure I know about it! Makes plotting so much easier... Likewise, if anyone's planning to crash, could you let me know. Thanks! Hope to see lots of you tomorrow. Posted by graham @ 05:34 pm |
