General Update

A brief update on various recent happenings, while I have time...

Claire and I are trying a new training technique with Tara. This is inspired by horse whispering, and aims to convince the dog that we are behaving exactly as a dominant dog would. Basically the rules are that the dog never gets anything when she asks for it (but can have when she's calm and we're ready) and that we always behave with calm dignity. Having looked up "dignity" in the dictionary, we're trying this. Seems to be working fairly well. Tara is better behaved, and gets just as many treats and fusses.

Looks like I will have a short story published in a small press sci-fi anthology. The tale is called The Dynamics of Hope, although I'm kinda hoping that the editor will come up with a better title. Other than that I'm pretty pleased with it. I'll provide more details on the anthology as soon as I know any...

I've remembered that the RSS feed on the main site needs to be manually poked after I post. I haven't been doing that for a while, so apologies to anyone whose feed reader suddenly got swamped.

Finally, Claire's blog recently included pretty pictures of Tara. Just in case anyone hasn't already seen them.

Pet Update

Today, Tara was fast asleep on her bed in the kitchen. Cisco crept on, and curled up against her tail.
